How to Choose lampshade Advanced Light Transmittance Meter?
The lampshade is an object that can be seen everywhere in daily life. In addition to protecting the internal lamp tube, the lampshade can also beautify exterior of room, block the strong light, and prevent the light from directly shining into the human eye, causing dizziness. The lampshade can be divided into many types according to the material. Therefore, there is no specific specification for the lampshade advanced light transmittance meter. It is necessary to select a suitable advanced light transmittance meter according to different materials. Let's first take a look at the classification of lampshade
1. Lampshade classification
The lampshade is mainly divided into a plexiglass mask, a plastic mask, an acrylic mask, and the most commonly used acrylic, PC, PVC. In fact, acrylic also named PC, PVC is a kind of plastic. It is characterized by light weight, good light transmission, stable chemical properties (no yellowing due to chemical reaction with light and heat), so these three materials are the most widely used in the lampshade industry.
2. Three design principles for the lampshade light transmittance meter
There are three design principles for the lampshade advanced light transmittance meters on the market, namely point source, parallel light and diffuse transmission. These three advanced light transmittance meters differ in their design principles, so their measurement accuracy and test materials are also different. For example, the glass lampshade has the worst light transmission in the material of all the lampshades, so when the light cover is tested for the light transmittance, the advanced light transmittance meters of three working principles can all be used. Only instruments made with the principle of parallel light and diffuse transmission will be more accurate. The data measured by the instrument with point-source is less accurate.

3. Measure the lampshade transmittance using advanced light transmittance meter
If the transparency in plastic and acrylic materials is very high (similar to the material of crystal glass), you can use the advanced light transmittance meter which adopt the parallel light or diffuse transmission design principle. But actually most of the lampshade material is translucent, or a rough surface, this kinds of lampshade can diffuse the light, and the light will be scattered from various angle after passing through the lampshade to avoid shining into the human eye. If a light transmittance meter using the principle of regular transmission is used to measure its light transmittance, the measured value will be much lower than the true light transmittance value, because it cannot receive scattered light. If the material is translucent, or a rough surface, we should use the advanced light transmittance meter with diffuse transmission principle. Because this kind of instrument is more comprehensive, the test data is more accurate.
Therefore, we should choose the advanced light transmittance meter that use the diffuse transmission principle according to the lampshade of different materials.
