Ultra Clear Glass Advantages and VLT Measurement
1. What is ultra clear glass?
Ultra-white glass is a kind of ultra-transparent low-iron glass, also known as low-iron glass and high-transparent glass. It is a new type of high-quality, multi-functional high-end glass with a light transmittance of over 91.5%. It has the characteristics of crystal clear, high-end and elegant, and is known as the "Prince of Crystal" in the glass family.
2. Ultra clear glass advantages
Ultra clear glass has superior physical, mechanical and optical properties, can
be like other high-quality float glass for a variety of deep processing.
Due to its superior quality and product performance, ultra clear glass has a wide range of application space and market prospects.
2.1 Low popping rate of glass
Since the raw materials of ultra-white glass generally contain less impurities such as NiS and the fine control during the melting of the raw materials, the ultra-clear glass has a more uniform composition than ordinary glass and has fewer internal impurities, which greatly reduces the possibility of tempering.
2.2 Color consistency
Since the iron content in the raw material is only 1/10 or even lower than that of ordinary glass, ultra-clear glass has less absorption of the green wavelength of visible light than ordinary glass, ensuring the consistency of glass color.
2.3 High visible light transmittance and good permeability
Visible light transmittance greater than 91.5%, with crystal-like quality, makes the display more clear and can highlight the true original appearance of the exhibit. The visible light transmittance can be measured using light transmittance meter LS116.
2.4 Low UV transmittance
Compared with ordinary glass, ultra-clear glass has lower absorption in the ultraviolet wavelength. It is used in anti-ultraviolet places, such as museums and other areas. It can effectively reduce the passage of ultraviolet rays and slow the fading and aging of various exhibits in the showcase, especially for cultural relics. The protective effect is more obvious.
2.5 Large market, high technology content, strong profitability
Ultra-white glass has relatively high technological content, difficult production control and relatively strong profitability compared with ordinary glass. Higher quality determines its expensive price. At present, the price of ultra-white glass is 1 to 2 times that of ordinary glass. , The cost is not much higher than that of ordinary glass, but the technical barrier is relatively high and it has a high added value.
3. VLT measurement of ultra clear glass
Light transmission (visible light transmittance) measurement can be performed using Linshang high-precision transmittance meter LS116.
High-precision transmittance meter LS116 can measure visible light transmittance up to 99.8% of high-permeability materials, as well as low-transmittance materials.
The resolution is 0.001%.
The instrument use parallel light source, accuracy is up to ±1%.
One of the highest precision instrument in the market.
This transmittance meter is also ideal for measuring transparent materials with 100mm thickness.
In line with CIE photopic luminosity function, the instrument can pass the inspection of China Institute of Metrology.
