1. What are the characteristics of anticorrosive coatings?

(1) Powerful

The anticorrosive coating can be used under severe conditions and has long-lasting anticorrosive life. Heavy anticorrosive coatings can generally be used for 10 or more years in chemical atmospheric and marine environments, even in acid, alkali, salt and solvent media. It can also be used for more than 5 years under certain temperature conditions.

(2) Strong adhesion

The coating has strong binding force to the substrate. The coating composition contains hydroxyl (-OH). The metal substrate provides positive ions and can form chemical bond. With the help of the coupling agent in the coating, even the covalent chain is realized. Under the support of the spatial network structure, the metal, metal oxide nano-materials and rare earth oxide ultrafine powders contained in the coating composition help the coating form a dense interfacial transition layer and match its comprehensive thermodynamic properties with the substrate .

(3) Flexible use

Inorganic polymer anticorrosive coating can be used alone or as an anticorrosive low-layer coating with organic paint. When used as a primer, a single layer of inorganic polymer anticorrosive coating can be used with epoxy, acrylic, polyurethane and chlorinated rubber. It can be used together with asphalt paint and other topcoats, with strong adhesion.

2. How to check the thickness of anticorrosive coating?

An anticorrosive coating is a covering layer. Generally, this covering layer is applied to a metal surface to isolate the anticorrosive material from the surrounding medium. The anticorrosive layer generally has good electrical insulation and water resistance. The anticorrosive coating has relatively strong adhesion on the pipeline surface. In order to check whether the anti-corrosion coating is qualified, we generally use an anti-corrosion coating thickness meter.

anticorrosive coating thickness meter

It is recommended to use Linshang LS223 anticorrosive coating thickness meter. This coating thickness meter uses magnetic thickness measurement and eddy current thickness measurement principles to measure the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on the surface of magnetic substrates. It can also be used to measure the thickness of non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metal surfaces. The instrument adopts a separate design of the main body and the side head, which is very suitable for the narrow space of the steel frame.
