How to Detect the Color Difference of Electroplated Parts?
I. Analysis of the cause of color difference of electroplated parts
With the continuous development of the electroplating process, the color of the plated plate has been changed from the original simple colors to almost all kinds of colors. As long as the user wants the spot color requirements of the electroplated parts, the manufacturer can provide according to the user's requirements for electroplating production. Then the problem is coming. Although so many colors can be electroplated, there are still problems of color difference in the production process. For example, if two metal plates of the same specification are placed in the same electroplating furnace for plating, there may be a certain color difference. The main reasons for the color difference problem are as follows:
The longer the product is left after priming, the more likely it is to be chromatic aberration. It will also cause this problem if the finished product is not sprayed with topcoat for a long time.
The current and voltage of the electrical degree, rotation, evaporation time, the amount and placement of the electroplating material will have an impact. The level of vacuum will also have an impact.
The air humidity in the electroplating workshop will affect the color difference. The size and shape of the workpiece will also be affected.
The primer is not completely dry, which is also an important reason for the color difference.
The purity of the electroplated material will also cause the problem of color difference on the surface of the electroplated parts.
In order to ensure the color quality of electroplated parts, manufacturers need to confirm the standard color samples and color difference reference samples of electroplated parts with customers before mass production, so as to help electroplating factories to refer to the plate. Due to the above factors, the production process of different electroplating plants is different, so it is inevitable that the color difference of the proofing plate will appear. Therefore, the colorimeter can be used to measure, evaluate the degree of color difference between the proofing plate and the standard color sample.
II. Color difference detection method of electroplated parts
Appearance inspection is the basic function of electroplating inspection. From the appearance, we can see the suitability of electroplating process conditions and possible changes of electroplating syrup. Commonly used methods for evaluating the appearance and color of electroplated parts are to observe them visually. However, due to the assessed environmental conditions, lighting conditions, the psychological and physiological state of the observer and the operating procedures, there may be deviations in the evaluation results of the electroplated parts color difference.
With the widespread use of colorimeters in the electroplating industry, the trend of color evaluation is developing in the direction of digitization. Electroplating parts inspectors can measure the Lab value and color difference values between standard color samples and electroplating proofing plates through colorimeters. ΔE can diarectly reflect the color difference problem in the electroplating process in a digital way. When the colorimeter is used to detect the color of the electroplated products, the parameter: D65 light source/ΔE value is often used. Different companies have different requirements for the color difference value. Users can determine whether the color difference of the proofing product is qualified according to the tolerance range set by the realization.
